We are thinking about a 70 Nova to run Sportsman, Hot Rod, E/G. Mild 454 BBC 450 + - hp 3200# car. What's everyone think PG, 350, 400. How would you build it, set it up? No Trans brake. Lets hear it. Thanks

A good powerglide and a mild big block sounds like a super consistent bracket car....Only 1 shift you can mess up

you have to look at the big picture, where do you see the car going in the future. Dont waste your time with a PG if your not gonna use a transbrake. If you think it will be faster someday, then go with a PG with a transbrake. The way your describing it right now I would use a 400. It needs more power or to be lighter for PG

Will be putting a 16 Y/O in it if they run the High School kids in Summit next year? DOT or OEM tires, Foot brake only, 12.0 max ET no electronics Summit rules ( AUTO CLUB FAMOSO does follow them). If not will let them run Sportsman at ANRA.

400, lower first gear than stock. Any street use? PG would be more consistent, but having the converter well matched to combo is key. 3 speeds make it more accomodating to other combo changes without converter changes.
Plus, I dont wish to offend, but PGs are boring to drive - hence the consistency.
A 460 & C6 would be better...... Ron
