For us index racers, it depends on what the new indexes will be. I seriously doubt it would be like the example Snarlin pointed out, but rather 8.45 or 8.40.
If it goes to the quicker "rounded figure" some might have to regear.
Personally, I'd think most of us would like to know if the shorter distance is to be in effect starting in 2009 so those decision can be made before the season begins

Snarlin, just becareful that when you looking at one of your watches that you dont spill your beer.
As far as the 1000' racing goes I dont see the benefit to the racers!

Ken, Thats why a wear a beer helmet  1000 feet whats next bench racing at home on our practice tree`s. Last weekend I was sitting on my sofa with my beer helmet on, a watch on both wrist, the practice tree trigger in my hand and pre staged when all of the sudden my cell phone rang, from there the problem ensued. I went -.276 on the tree, spilled beer on both of my watches, tripped over the power cord and fell on the practice tree and my cell phone. Thanks Dragster Jeff for calling at the wrong time  Two watches = $ 376.87 ( K-Marts best ) Practice tree = $ 279.65 ( on sale at Jegs ) Cell phone = $ 562.43 Wife banning me from the Living Room = Priceless ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D - Snarlin |

Yeah Ozzie, we might be running our last quartermile runs at the ANRA finals. We'd best make it one to remember.
All we can hope is that it is in fact only a rumor. Time will tell.

YEAH MIKE IF THIS HAPPENS IT WOULD REALLY SUCK! BUT ALL OF US REGARDLESS OF THE CLASS HAVE TOO MUCH $$$$$$$ INVESTED AND THE LOVE OF THE SPORT AND PEOPLE WE COME IN CONTACT WITH TO MOVE ON. SO, AS WITH OTHER ISSUES I GUESS WE ALL WILL ADJUST. WILL KEEP A KEEN EYE ON THE LATEST NEWS. OZZIE.

Although not related to us, but I have enjoyed the Pro Nitro racing at 1000 feet, the quality of each side by side racing is so much better, but I hope we stay at 1320, but if we have to adjust as Ozzie said, we all love this too much and have alot invested to just throw it away for -320 feet.

Why don't they just add 320 feet to the end of the track ?  Hay Ozzie you ready for the match race . I found an old can of nitro in the garage , been using it for paint remover . Chuck |
