I'm looking for a little info here. Only actual experience (no guessing) please.
Can anyone give me real world examples of 60 foot times compared to 1/4 mile et.
Example, if your car has a 1.50 60 foot time what did it turn for a final elapsed time at the 1/4 ?
Looking for real numbers in the 1.49 to 1.52 area for 60 foot times and the resulting final elapsed times.
thanks for the help, Max Blast

Max - My car has run a best of 10.84 with a 1.43 sixty foot time . High 1.40's to 1.50 usually around 11.00 to 11.10 this is pretty normal . In contrast my friends 1969 bigblock roadrunner usually 60 foots in the mid 1.50's to 1.60's and runs 10.50'to 10.60's . Some cars leave hard and others come on hard at the big end

1.20=8.36 with N2O 1.22=8.62 without N2O These are pretty good for me, about 1.24-1.26 = 8.66 is more typical. I may have some closer to what you are asking, Ill look. Ron

A sampling of cars I raced against recently: 1.4965, 11.014, 120.03 1.3938, 10.3085, 128.79 1.4408, 9.7771, 139.75 1.6077, 11.8248, 111.97 As you see, I agree with eric. It depends heavily on the combo. 3 speed autos vs 2 speed vs clutch, how low 1st gear is etc. A light, underpowered car with a good 4 link can yield a really low 60' for the et. A heavy car with a glide will be much slower in 60' than a 3 speed - I have heard converter vendors argue against this. Heavy flywheels / flexplates will produce quicker 60' if you hook - I. E. reactor etc. Type of slick has an effect also. For instance a goodyear #1984 (made for super classes with stiffer sidewall) will give quicker 60' on a door car than the same size tire made for a rail. Ron

Thanks to all for the help. I guess my search for a simple answer was trumped by reality. I should have figured that out for myself.
Our car used to do about 1.62 for a 11.25 et
The car's last run had a 1.51 but had problems downtrack and ran 10.85 at 119 mph (quickest ever) but the MPH was way slow. We have run 122mph at 11.25et
I'll be tuning the carb for top speed and expect about 128 to 130 MPH
regards and thanks, Max Blast

Our car 60fts in the range you're lookin' at, but is pretty far outside the curve for more typical front motor cars.
Average 1.52 at around 11.50. Seems most guys with ETs in my range are at about 1.6X on the 60
Our best of 1.48 compares to Ron Gribble's 11.014 example. Our ET for that was 11.44

The Wonder Wagon has clicked off a 1.62, 60' and ran 11.70 @115.
My Ne/2 car is one of the slowest 60' @ 1.30 but runs big MPH 8.60 @ 157
If you want a quick 60' time, take it to SACRAMENTO>>>>>> Every car I have ever raced has a quicker 60' at Sac. Maybe it's the 58', 60' clocks>>>> I'm just sayin......

CHASSISMAN, YOU ARE ABSOLUTLY CORRECT! ASK ANY CONVERTOR MANUFACTURER AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT IT IS HOW QUICKLY THE CAR WILL MOVE IN THE FIRST 2 FEET! 60 foot times were a good baseline in the day, but with the different set-ups and driving styles today<as you mentioned> 60 feet does"nt give you much info except for tire spin and convertor problems. JUST AN OLD MANS 2 CENTS. OZZIE.
