First off I`d like to thank BUTCH for putting on these races. And thank you for the pregnant dogen' NE/2 Runner Up plack. I couldn`t get the "NITRO CHASER" dragster out there because of new engine problems, but I did bring my old race car {red `67 Nova}for my son to drive. Accually I gave him the car. He had only driven it one time when he was 16 on the street. Now he is 25. He went out for the first qualifing pass {with a lot of coaching form Dad} and went a 13 flat. Not very good burn outs though. Made the second pass and went 12.87. Now were lookin' good. First round of Eliminations and HE WINS with a 12.86 on a 12.75 dial in. He went crazy. Second round eliminations and I had him dialed in at 12.80,and at the last minute I switched it to 12.85. {Big mistake on Dads part} and the kid is out there accually fender racing another Black Nova and breaks out. 12.83 OFF THE GAS AND ON THE BRAKES! He came back to the pits pissed."I HAD HIM" was all he could say. We had a great time yesterday and I didn`t think I could just stand around and watch, but I had goose bumps seeing him run. THAT WAS THE BEST DAY I`VE HAD WITH MY SON IN A LOT OF YEARS. THANKS BUTCH. Now I know how Dale feels with is son and WHO`S YER DADDY. We`ll see ya in June hopefully with both cars. NEWT out.

Sorry We didn't make it. I wound up puttin brakes on my go to work car. There was just no way for me to get Lyles golf cart out of the trailer without having to move the Top Kick as well as the trailer. He's just not up to walking around much yet. As far as the car count, I'm workin on it. My engine should be done in a few weeks. I just need to find an alchohol fuel injection set up for a 355 (18 degree heads). I'm also considering an alky carb, so if anybody has an extra just gathering dust, I'll put it to good use. I'm really gettin itchy to get this thing on the track!!! Hope to see ya'll at the next one. Jeff

What can I say? First, Butch.. you and your team rock. The event, the food, the stuff.. all very cool. Awesome, awesome event.
Second... WHOZ YA SONNY! Gawd, what a freakin dragstud I've raised. He is blessed with natural ability, and Im blessed with a son who is polite, mature, and fun to be around. The kid drilled the tree all day, ran the number, drove the daddy's wheels off. I'm thinkin' Ive lost my NE3 ride. He gained more respect in one day of racing than I have in 2 years. He was scary quick on his first pass (only his tenth pass ever)... cut an 018 light and ran a 60 with a 6. That's a little tough for a dad to argue with. (Newt, take notes.. yours is next in the Nitro Chaser.. give up the ride dad.. give it up)
Even tho I didnt drive, I had more fun hangin' with my buddies Ron and Marla Anzo and Steve and Buck Steele.. not to mention my wife showed up to see her oldest KICK ASS. Janice CRIED on the starting line in the final. I just giggled and told her "betcha dont miss the next one".
Those of you who rooted for the kid.. thanks. I realize it's only 9 seconds, but it means alot to us to see the support we get from all of you guys. Awesome fun. Now all we need is ERIC to come back! Woohooooo.. this class is gettin more competitive every race.

I too had a great time even though I was havin a tough time running the #. I got my butt handed to me in the first round by the eventual winner in B gas. Keep in mind I am running a completely stock floor, firewall, frame, and front suspension on 11" D.O.Ts. with a 499" engine at 3250 pounds. I either need a lighter car, or a bigger engine! LOL Congrads to all the winners and runner ups. Thanks again. Bruce Darley with the white 67 camaro

Hey Butch:
Just wanted to add SFR's congratulations for an awesome day of racing! The weather you selected was great. Didn't miss the wet stuff one bit.
We didn't have the best of days, but I'm glad that Casey Dow did. Great kid and a chip off the block, as they say.
Thought we'd be staying for the BBQ, but as with everything else that day we missed the FREE FOOD too. Looked like a good car count. Thumbs up for ANRA. Putting up posters wherever we can. Take care!

Well it looks like everyone had a good daY AT THE RACES. Now there is another one coming up next week, And Butch needs more cars to show up. How about we all get on the phone and call our buddies and invite them out for the day. Even if they just come to spectate. That will put people in the stands. You always race better when there are people in the stands. But better yet, Have them Bring a car and put it on the track, Then they will have just as much fun as you did at the last race.. Lets get this Orginization built up to where it should be...Dlck
