Hey everybody, I was able to come out and watch my first ANRA race this month with my friends and I had a great time! So much that I've got the itch to race again and I'm going to be building an E gas car to race.
Now the question is, are Fire jackets required for the class? I've looked over the NHRA rules and it says protective clothing takes effect at the 11.49 mark, but wanted to see if its required for E gas in general.

Welcome Dave! I ran E/Gas for 2 races this year and at the race last weekend chose not to wear my jacket and was well within the rules. As long as you don't go 11.49 or quicker you will be fine.

Dave;there are other rules you need to follow if your car will run under 11.50 seconds.Rollbars,5 point harness, single layer jacket, among others. If you are certain your car won't run 11.49 or quicker you just need a 2005 or newer helmet, long pants, and a safe car with good factory style seat belts.ROY.

Awesome guys! And thanks for the welcome! I'm hoping to get it to run 11.60 and hoping to make the next ANRA race so hopefully I'll have some people to meet in August!
