I know you are car people, so here is my problem, I have a 95 K1500 Chevrolet with a problem. When it sits at idol, it sometimes surges and then dies. Or I will be driving out of a parking lot or driving slowly and then all of the sudden when I step on the brake it surges and either dies or feels like it is going to die. I thought it was the fuel filter so last night I changed the plugs, Wires, CAP & rotor, Air filter, Fuel Filter, PVC valve and the oil. and put some fuel cleaner in the gas tank, and it still does it. Anyone have any clues?
thanks Chris

I know how to fix it ....Jerk that computer , electronic fuel injection , transistorized ignition system and stick a carburetor and a points type distributer in it . Then you can tune it with a screw driver and a pair of pliers in stead of needing a main frame to figure out what the problem is ......Wow , am I turning into a retro-grouch or what? Sorry , anything made after about 1978 I just take it to the dealer

Could be in the TB system ..or the Throttle Positioning Sensor...MAP Sensor...several things could cause that...You'll probably have to take it to a 'tuneup' joint where they have a computer that they can plug the vehicle into...Good ruck

I had a 91 Silverado 1500 that did something similar, Check your fuel pressure, either the Fuel pump is beginning to fail, or your pressure regulator took a dump. Any manual will tell you the pressure needed for the truck. It should be 60-90 PSI most likely. Hook up the pressure gage to the hard line, and turn the key on (do not start) and check the pressure if it's to low, to high or doesn't hold steady determines the problem, the manual should tell you which one part correlates to which Pressure, Good Luck, Joe
OH BTW Mine was a brand new fuel pump (2 mo.s old)
