Any Hemi gurus out there?
Does an early Desoto (1953) hemi block have a "Bellhousing" area cast on as in the early Chrysler hemi blocks (1951-1953)?
Or is the Desoto block flat on the back like a 354 or 392 type block?

I don't have his phone number, but Dr. Kin Bates runs in nostalgia A-Fuel and his engine is Gene Adams. Gene and his brother Gary were the biggest team running Desoto Hemi motors in the mid 60's. Gene is living in Arizona but someone should have his phone number. Give Gene a call.
