I apologize if if this is old (you've already been informed ), or un-concerning news for any of you, BUT,
Come NOV 14th at 10:00 am, the Merced County Board of Supervisors will hold the ONE AND ONLY (there was to be an am & pm hearing) final public comment hearing regarding Riverside Motorsports Park(we have already had unanimous approval votes from the County Planning Commission and the Airport Land Use Commission).
I am here to solicit any and all participation to show up at this hearing. If you go BE THERE BY 9:00 am!!!
I know you guys have already done a bunch through e-mails and the sort, and it is VERY APPRECIATIVE! In that vein, I'm not asking for any major road-trips (unless you're really just looking for something to do), but if you're so inclined, (or know of anyone or business owners near the Merced area, give them a call to show up), please COME!
Our GOAL is to pack the hearing room with RMP supporters (in other words we want the opposition to be on the outside looking in). Although there will be two additional overflow rooms (with video hook-ups), the main room (front and center with the Supers) only holds around 200 or so people. We will be handing out RMP hats in order that we are visible to both the Supervisors and the media.
We are also encouraging supporters to get up and speak on behalf of the track (jobs, education, recreation) and their sport (the well mannered, community friendly side).
The opposition is sure to have a line of whiners (as they have at previous meetings), spewing the demise of mankind as we know it.
Trust me it's almost comical if not for the fact that they are SOOOO ignorant as to modern motorsports, and are relentless in their quest to prevent "a monument to oil dependence and health detriments" from becoming a reality.
Anyway, the bottom line is this facility is/will be the cutting edge for motorsport facilities for years to come. As I've said to other sites and supporters, "To me it's worth it to take one day off in order to help create YEARS of racing and career opportunities for fans, racers and businesses alike."
After the NOV 14th hearing the Board will deliberate and then render their decision during their DEC 12th monthly meeting.
Thanks Again to all, and if you come up seek me out so I can personally thank you.
