That picture showing the tailshaft housing and what appears to be a transbrake solenoid make that car require a -15 or better fire suit. If your local tech guy let that by he missed it.
My car was rejected at one of the March Meets in part because of this issue.
All parts of the transmission must be isolated from the drivers compartment iif you want to run a -1 or -5 suit.
good luck with it, Max Blast Early Riders Rust-T

I am certainly not interested in being a tech inspector just trying to relay what happenned to me personally.
The NHRA General Rules clearly state that the automatic transmission must be completely isolated from the drivers compartment or the driver must wear the higher grade fire suit.
I did happen to hit one of the higher level tech guys in that instance but any tech guy who wants to actually do his job can site the same rule.
I also use that "metal tape" you mentioned to seal the cracks/seams. Fire is niether fun nor pleasant and one day in the hospital is far more expensive than iether the cost of doing the job correctly or the cost of the higher grade suit.

Thanks for all of the advice/opinions on this topic. It's been at Bruce Dyda's shop in Gardena for a couple days and I picked it up this morning. Probably the best decision I made during this build, I was shocked, it came out perfect. I could go on and on, he's the guy to go to in SoCal if you are looking for true professional craftsmanship.

BTW,
He built a fire wall, and I do plan stepping up soon to a -20 after all.
