Do the heritage series events draw spectator? Brandon, I'm sure the events that run Nitro cars do.

Brandon, here's a funny example for you. Arizona car count was terrible, but on raceday Bernie and trackcrew were pleased to have a full house of spectators. Oh yeah and no Nitro there!

Vegas was really light last year on the car count. The promotion for the race falls into the hands of the track, not NHRA. ROY.

There seems to be no consistancy. Everyone knows my dislike on how the '08 Vegas race was run on Sunday. Yes, I know stuff happens, etc. But dont make us sit for over 2 hours on Sunday morning and not say a thing as to when we are going to start. For a series, you have to have consistancy in how it's run. Does it need to be perfect? No, not at all that's impossible. Clear consistant communication and you're good. Also, this doesnt mean I would rule out running a single race, I just wont run the series as a whole. ANRA fills that need for me perfectly.

Our feels exactly Steve. We ran the MM and Reunion this past year only for the same and more reasons.
The other reasons were: NHRA not following their own rules when it came to enforcement (specifically allowing Pro Mod style cars in competition);throwing non-complying cars in the sportsman ranks and then casually blowing it off by saying things like, "Its just an index class."; the treatment of sportsman racers as second class citizens; too tight of a schedule (although looks better this year); We didn't qualify at the MM, consequently taking us out of any points chase, so we saw no reason to spend the cost of traveling long distances (etc.) trying to play catch-up: and on and on.
As the Heritage season went on, the car count would continued to decline. Even at the hot bed of racing Sacramento. Which even surprised me because I just thought that most racers from Nor. Cal wouldn't travel as far as Vegas or Phoenix unless they were in the points; but not to go to a race close by?
Our 2010 schedule will have all the Heritage races on it as well as ANRA, Drag Fest, Santa Maria, and a few others. The likelihood of us canceling some of these races are high with the Heritage Series at the top-of-the-list for the reasons above. We'll have to see how it plays out.

Heritage had declining car counts while ANRA had increasing car counts... interesting...

I chose to not race NHRA last year, and i don't regret it at all. I wanted to run more ANRA stuff, but life happens.
Next year, i intend on running the ANRA series and Dragfest.

We could easily run a different series closer to home, but it's more than payouts or the distinction of a big sanctioning body to us, we value racing with great people and that's what we've found with ANRA the past 3 years. We don't mind at all making a longer tow in order to race with you all knowing that we have made some great friendships. I know I personally value that more.
