I printed out the "Nevada AB372" law...There's a lot of room for interpretation as far as I'm concerned..The fact that this law even exists leaves too much room for the NHP to chew on.. Many of the NHP are completely aware of what is and what isn't..Then the rest of them will stop you just for the sake of stopping you.. As far as I'm concerned, the possibility of getting stopped, getting hassled about this BS rule is enough to make me cancel any/all the races that I used to have on my schedule for the Nevada/Vegas area...I just don't need the aggravation of being stopped.. Just my take...(rant over)...Back to our normal broadcast..

Why hit the slots? Why even go there? WHY give the state any revenue? Write and complain, everyone should make their opinion known to the powers that be.

You would think Nevada makes enough money from Calif gamblers and Casinos, now they want MORE!!! same old story these days! Gimmmee. Gimmmeee!I think we all need to start a Racers commune, where we all can live together and do our thing without all the B.S. Peace OUT!

Just a thought I discussed with Joel this morning.... If you remove the carb or injector off your car (and hiding it in the tow vehicle) thereby rendering it inoperable, meaning that in the current state has no potential to earn or win anything, is the car still subject to the law? Any Ambulance Chasers out there that can answer this question?

Several Days ago, I had a few friends here that live in Vegas..One of the 'topics' was this 'new law'...A few days prior, I was told by a rep in the Nevada Dpt of Transportation, that the 'chances' of getting stopped are so so..Most of her answers to my questions were pretty vague, but the possibility of a $500 dollar fine caught my attention..According to her, the sportsman racer 'may not' be concerned, but the "May Not' left too much room.. I decided that we'd go to Vegas for the Heritage race...This morning I get a call from my friends that live in Vegas..The info that I had gotten a little over a week ago, was WRONG..Anything that that your towing, whether it is a MH w/trailer..if it exceeds 10,000 lbs, you are required to have a 'Permit"...If you have a race car in the trailer and it sports 'stickers' on it, that is a 'source of income' and you can be cited..($500 fine).. I called the track...Can't get a human on the phone...Called NHRA and got Voice Mail...left message... As it is NOW...we're NOT GOING..and the permits are not $80, they're $125.00...

We will be going up to run Vegas for the first time for the Heritage race. Where did you buy your permits?

I have a complete printout of Assembly Bill[AB]372.Under FAQs,line item # 11,quote,My vehicle is over 10,000 lbs and is used to haul my classic car to special events;do I need to purchase a permit?ANSWER:NO.You can read into the law many different scenes,I think it is best to call them,Licensing Team of the Motor Carrier Division,775,684-4711,option#1.I'm going to the Heritage race,I think their new[2009]law is BS but I like racing Vegas. If I have to register I'll chock it up as racing expense.JMO,ROY.
