Just thought I'd throw this out there to get some opinions.
At the Heritage race this weekend, at Fontana, while walking through the staging lanes, a member of my crew spotted a competitor in the HOT ROD class with a laptop in the front passenger seat floor area. When the competitor noticed my crewman looking at it, he appeared to try to hide it. Now, I'd rather ask someone with more knowledge about this being I have never run electronics before, and I don't want to accuse anyone of cheating.
Would this be a hint of someone using electronics???

Don't know of any other method that a laptop works under. He could have been on his Facebook page leaving notes, but I don't think that the staging lanes have a WiFi hot spot. And thats why we don't go to the HRHS.

If anyone sees something like that in the future just ask the driver what he's doing? Years ago I saw a fellow Hot Rod competitor in a different race series with his trunk open working on something as I walked by to say hi - I saw a delay box and all kinds of electronic stuff - I had seen delay boxes in cars before and asked him what he was doing - He slammed the trunk shut and said "nothing". I told him he could either put his car on the trailer and leave or I'd have him thrown out...he left . I haven't seen him cut a decent light since then . If you think you see something fishy ask them about it , if it's legal they won't have a problem with you asking

Most electronic fuel injection is tuned by laptop. I'm fairly certain EFI is allowed in heritage series racing, as I ran it a couple years back, and they allowed a friend of mine to run it as well at last year's March Meet. Actually in my friends case, they were more concerned about the steering wheel being on the right side of the car than they were about his induction system. He brought the car over from the UK to run at a few events here in the states.

Yep...NHRA always has their priorities Mike, lol
I have seen Nitrous bottles, delay boxes, etc in cars. When I was helping Butch, I wasn't real popular with a few of the first time racers, but hey...it's gotta be equal for all.
