My employers son was digging irrigation trenches on their property a while back and hit something metallic. He spent a little time each day last summer digging it out. "If you ever dig a hole and find a car, you just might be..."

Dang...they trying to grow street rods in Clovis? yeah, well they planted this one too deep and it didn't grow. Looks like it got plenty of water though.

actually, in the old days it was common for people to bury a car in a giant hole to provide a place for drain water to go. oftentimes we did this to not have to buy a replacement septic tank. trick was to be certain that you left a six foot tall mound of dirt above ground so that in a few years when the car rusted out and the dirt caved in that the mound would fill it in. and it aint like you could plant a tree there.
