Good question to ask and best to ask for different opinions. Guess the first questio to you is what do you want out of the car's peformance? In other words tire size should make a differance depending on gear ratio and engine RPM your looking for.
Example: we run a blown SBC and a 15x16x34.5 tire and like to run the engine at about 7800 to 8000 through the lights. depending on the time of the year (hot vs. col months) we'll chang e the gear ratio. This is a full bodied car.
There are more factors to consider, but this is some thing to think about. I suggest asking folks like Strange Engineering or Hoosier Tires these questions. Their very helpful in that way.

We run a 180" car tires are hoosier 32x14.5Wx15 on12" rims. car runs mid 7's with a 582 mopar. found works best leaving the line on the brake, run 4.10 gears and about 7800 on top end. Hope that helps
