DEPENDS ON HOW FAST YOU WANT TO GO. IMO, "OLD PIPE" IS NOT SAFE! BUILD OR BUY A NEWER PIPE CAR AND HAVE PIECE OF MIND FOR MANY YEARS. JMO. OZZIE.

1961 Gasser:
I bought a '68 Woody Gilmore chassis in 2004 and used it in NE-3 and then NE-2 from 2005 until I sold it in December last year. We updated the cage and that was about it. Only had one problem with the chassis breaking on the way up to Bakersfield and that was my fault. Was using an old inner tube to support the chassis. After that I bought bladders to use in transport. From what I hear the car is being used in NE-1 in Vancouver Washington now.

If you lean toward buying something new, these guys do a nice job and I hope you would consider them. Saw the FED at one of the previous ANRA races. www.shukenracing.com/I also know where a used chassic is with lots of goodies for $8,000.
