Anacapa uses baking soda instead of sand when blasting rust off of metal. They claim it doesn't pit the metal like sand or crushed walnut shells do. Just makes the baking soda into a finer powder.
And it's all natural which makes it environmentally safe, not to mention that it's cheap too.
