Max - Check out the American Nostalgia West A/FX , NSS (Nostalgia Super Stock) website at www.americannostalgiawest.com/ . They are racing at some other venues and should have a number of races next year . At the CHRR it is by invitation only . It's a fun group of racers that have some awesome cars from the past . Here are the rules as they stand now .
1. All cars must pass NHRA tech inspection.
2. We cater to the sixties vintage full body race cars. Some exceptions may be made byANW operations committee.
3. All cars must run same manufacturers engine. Engines do not have to be year specific.
4. All cars must be approved by ANW operation committee.
5. All cars must have graphics that are nostalgia specific for sixties vintage race cars. The graphics must also include a car name unique to that car. Exceptions may be made for a new car but only for a short duration.
6. All cars must appear like sixties vintage race cars. No pro stock hood scoops or lead sleds.
7. No tube chassis cars, back half OK.
8. No power enhancers.
9. Mechanical fuel injection OK.
10. Carburetor and ignition system are unlimited.
11. No driving aid electronics (crossover, delay boxes). Trans brake permitted.
12. No throttle control devices. Solid throttle stop OK.
General competition rules:
Quick 16 field - 8 fastest cars on one side of the ladder and 8 slowest on the other side of the ladder.
four-tenths pro tree (.400) and quarter second dial-ins.
9.25 - 9.50 - 9.75 - 10.00 - 10.25 - 10.50 - 10.75 - 11.00
Courtesy staging recommended - each driver must light pre stage bulb first before either driver stages. Deep staging permitted.
Drivers meeting (required) prior to each race day approx 8:30am.
All competitors must belong to the ANW organization.
Points - one (1) point awarded for appearing and registering. one (1) point for qualifying. one (1) point for each round win. five (5) points to winner, four (4) to runner up, three (3) to semifinalists etc.
Any ANW member may make recommendations for rule changes. Constructive criticism is recommended. All final decisions will be controlled by operations officers.
