I,ve had this idea floating around in my head for several years and I thought I,d put it out there to see what happens. Are you tired of running on an index? Tired of backing out in the lights? Tired of trying to outguess your oponent? Here,s how we can run heads up and the first one to the end wins. In circle track racing they have a claimer race where anybody can purchace the winners long block for a predermined price. If the winner wont sell he is disqualified. For drag racing you could have a class of like cars, say front motored dragsters or altereds, all with cast iron 502 chevys 1 four barrel and an electronic ignition in a stock distributor on alky. You would have regular qualifying and get everybody paired up. Either everybody runs or have an 8 or16 car field and have at it. If you win and nobody claims your long block you have your C. I. D checked and you get your share of the prize money. If you get claimed you swap long blocks with the protester. JTB

Cars will have a minimum weight with driver. also Joe, you can keep your present setup to use in index racing. Just have a quick change set up to install the claimer set up. J T B

Jack what ever do you mean, no parity in NE1? Altereds, dragsters, roadsters, blown, injection, carberated, etc. Why I even seen a duel inline 6-cylinder dragster run it NE1.
Please elaborate.

Jack....the idea of a claimer class has been kicked around A LOT over the last 5 years. I like the idea, but it seems to many people don't want to change....they like the status quo.... This way we can help keep lower budget racers out of the loop.....LOL
