Wow...over 200 cars in Hot Rod Eliminator . Went 4 rounds and lost when the car was completely sideways on the starting line . What happened to the great track we had on Friday and Saturday? Man did it go away big time . The sun came out Sunday and the track got hot , oh well ...we'll get 'em next time . Great event , had fun , I'm tired , back to work

WOW!!!!!!!! I just got my car in the air to check the suspension..thought something felt funny and found the left side rear lower shock mount had broken clean off with the shock kinda dangling there . I guess it don't want to launch real straight on one shock in the back I'm not so concerned about losing just glad I didn't wad it up now!!

Nice launch Eric. After 4 rounds of racing I am surprised that pomona of all tracks would go away. But it sounds like you had a good time all in all. Marc.

I've got to say what a great experience it is to do business with Calvert Racing makers of CalTracs . I emailed them about my shock mount tearing off wanting to order a new one and my phone is ringing within 5 minutes and they are sending me a new pair of mounts for my car . They stand behind their product and are a pleasure to do business with besides making a product that is second to none . Just look at how my car hooks on a 10" tire . Very refreshing to see a company dedicated to the racers . Thanks to all at Calvert Racing!!!!!

So the track didn't go away after all... Nice wheelies every pass I saw you make. Did anyone see or get a shot of Randy Guitars 51 chev scraping the bumper? Man I wanted to see Eric and Randy side by side.. Good for Calvert, Hughes should take a lesson...

I forgot to mention that I talked to Brad Thompson yesterday. He's fine, a little sore, but OK after being buried to his lap belt, upside down in the sand after the final. He said the car was not hurt to bad and they would be in Seattle ready to and stand on the gas. He tree'ed Bret be .3 on the final. Yes, thats 3 tenths, They hopped it up in the middle and smoked the tires and got passed 15 ft before the stripe. But they learned a lesson. That thing was a bracket car. 6.00, 5.84, 5.86, 5.90, 5.86, 5.88 and spun in the final when they tried to step on it. He tree'ed Bret so bad a 6.10 would have beat him. Great weekend except for bustin my hot rod. We can fix it..... Oh , What a great BBQ on Sat night . Thanks to all for a great meal and good company... Long live that type of fun, just like family.......... D.J.

Great story!!!!!! My good buddy Courtney who drives a beautiful '68 red camaro spends too much time watching info-mercials on rainy days . he purchased one of those space aged looking fold up propane BBQ's for 4 easy payments of 29.99 ;D So he hooks up a propane bottle and we hear a leak , we stand the BBQ up and the leak stops...fixed it! So we start cooking some burgers when we hear a pop...and the whole BBQ is engulfed in flames with plastic melting and nice toxic black smoke pouring out of it . Courtney sacrifices a gallon of water trying to put the flames out which does nothing .Of course we saved the burgers first and put them safely aside . I'm thinking that propane bottle's got to be getting hot and I don''t want to be around when it blows up so I sprint to my car and grab the fire extinguisher I have mounted to my roll bar and truck on back to the 3 alarm BBQ fire and pull the trigger - POOF...the fire is out and the Pomona pits are saved from a near tragedy . ( at no times were any alcoholic beverages harmed during this episode ) Courtney swears he'll never buy another thing while watching TV and we continue cooking our toxic burgers on the Gonzales' BBQ which still has some nice safe hot charcoal in it . Tasted great !

I'm glad our coals were still hot and you guys got to finish off them "toxic burgers".
