Has come and gone, and can be considered by all, as another great ANRA event.. Seems like more and more cars are coming to these ANRA events, as all classes are expanding which makes for a wide range of competition for everyone.. A little bit 'hot' on Saturday and Sunday, but I understand that "Butch" is working on making it 'cooler for the race dates'...(Just can't wait to see what springs up at the August race.. ... lol Outstanding effort and job by all... THANK YOU ANRA.. Joel, and all of us from the "House of Mouse" racing..

Joel your post is spot on,also heard the same thing "Butch" is working on making it 'cooler for the race dates' . Where else can you race and the promoter tries to get a hold of you at your hotel to let you know your class has been moved up on race day so you don’t miss first round, that there just shows you that Butch is for the racers. We had a great time; I just hope that after not running a car like this for ten years that the rust will wear off soon. Thank you to everyone that makes this series possible!

All I can say is this was just another outstanding weekend of racing at an ANRA event.
I couldn't believe how far out cars were pitted down the return road. Heard there were competitors racing from as far away as Sparks, NV, Idaho and even Alberta Canada.
And thanks to Larry Luna of Quarter Mile Productions, I'll be able watch all the track action for weeks to come.
August can't come soon enough.

Our car ran much better than it's driver (me ). That part's my fault. But we still had the great time we come here for. And that part's you and your crew's fault, Butch.

Thank you Butch & the Gang. We had a great time. You guys all work so hard to provide a great experience. This was my first ANRA race as a participant in 4 years. Hard to believe. Glad to be back. Means Racing rolled in the gate Friday afternoon, got teched in and got our pits all setup for the weekend. We were pitted with Joe Barton & Dick Moseley. It's always fun watching the 'city' be created in the pits. What was an empty tarmac a few hours earlier, is now a bustling city full of thousands of people. Saturday late morning we had our first shot at the track. Due to air quality (3200' feet and 92*), I added 4% to the blower drive. We towed up to the lanes and produced a 7.68 ET. 60' was off, as the track was already hot (130*). After servicing the car and prepping it for round 2 of qualifying, I tried adding a 1/2# of air to try and make the tire work better on the slick track. This proved to be a bad idea as the 60' fell off another .03 (1.18 now, 1.11 normal). Car ran 7.77. Tune up in the motor looked good, and MPH was as expected, but had to figure out how to make the car 60' on the hot track. Saturday night Austin & I took off and headed over the James' house for the use of his pool. Brandy cooked up some burgers and we watched qualifying on TV. Sunday morning, first round was early as we had 5 rounds (24 NE/1 cars showed up. very nice field). Austin dropped tire pressure to 7#s. My opponent tried to pull a "Valencia" and stood the car up, so I shut it off and coasted thru the lights but it still rattled just a little at the step and would have ran a 7.65 or so. That 60 was the best of the weekend (and they had just prepped the track). We prepped the car for the next round. I drew a longtime friend who i Love to race, and i always get up for the challenge. After the rattle 1st round, Austin went up .25# looking to get a hair more tire speed. Didn’t seem to help. I went .018 to his .066 on the tree and had a wheel on him all the way down. It was a great race, .022 at the stripe if I recall correctly. After servicing the car for E3, we learned our opponent was broke, and we had a single. Austin wanted that single to work on tire pressure, he tried 7.5#. So I took it all the way down track. Spun pretty hard, only ran a 7.70. It was getting harder & harder to cool everything down between rounds, as it was now 98*. Starting line temps were above 145 at this time. My fourth round opponent was Jason Barta (who eventually won the deal). Back down to 7.25# I gated him by .011 on the tree, but after driving thru yet more shake, it only ran a 7.80 to his 7.66. I tried to leg it out in low gear to make up for some ET, but couldn't real him in. We had a GREAT time. Car ran good. We learned what didn't work on a hot track, now to learn what does work...lol Looking forward to the next one!!! Greg & Austin
