Standing at the fence at about 1000 foot mark watching the final round of Top Fuel go off knowing that Schumacher had to win the race and set a new National ET record of better than 4.437 to take the championship away from Doug Kalitta on the last round of racing for the year .....and seeing the win light come on in an awesome Final round race and then realizing that the 4.428 on the scoreboard just set the new record and won him the championship.... WOW!!!!!!!!!! It was awesome to be there and hang in the Schumacher pit through out the day and see this unfold . Unbelievable!!!! With the new points format in NHRA we won't see this kind of drama played out . Glad I was there to see it ...Without a doubt the most exciting day of drag racing I've ever seen

Great day for the Army on Veterans Day weekend. Wonder what NHRA will do Tuesday about the oil leak on Friday night where he was supposed to shut it down but made the pass after Rick Stuart gave him the shut off sign? 20 points and a fine?NAW

I saw on NHRA.com that a $20,000 fine was handed out for the starting line issue - I think they have that covered

I'm not sure that picture went well with the general public and a lot of 'other racers'... First off...I always thought that when the Starter give you the "Shut off" signal, you shut it off. Second:...Now you have to think..Who really is the power on the line??...Rick Stewart or DSR??? I guess when you run as many cars as the DSR Camp does, some rules do not apply.. Third:...Ya think there was some signals from the NHRA hiarchy in the tower to 'let Tony go' Might have been... Where's the 'shadow' when you need him??

I agree with everything you said there Joel....but when Rick Stewart shrugged his shoulders , let Schumacher stage and activated the tree I guess it was OK with him . I know if an NHRA official gives me the "shut it off" sign , I shut it off. Maybe they didn't see it? ;D
