Uh oh......
DANISH TO LEAVE AAA DRAGWAY
California Speedway’s Senior Director of Operations Mike Yurick has confirmed that Auto Club Dragway Track Manager Dave Danish has handed in his resignation effective May 14. Danish and his wife Cathy will oversee the coming divisional event May 3-6 and the Andy Robles Memorial, Auto Club Jr. Dragster Series event on May 12-13. Under Danish’s direction the Dragway received the "Best Lucas Oil Division 7 Track" in 2005 for the second year in a row. Danish was reached by phone and confirmed his departure, but will not announce his future plans until later in the week.
Yurick also announced that after June 1 there will be no more alcohol or fuel cars allowed on the quarter mile, however the Pacific Street Car Association’s race schedule and the NHRA SportsNationals will not be affected. Nitro Coupes at the recent Super Chevy Show raised noise issues with a few local residents and the Speedway has now engaged Santa Ana-based Gordon Bricken & Associates to work on acoustics and noise control for the facility.

Wow does that mean all alcohol cars????Nothing but gasoline cars allowed?....there are residents near by???I thought the train that goes within 50 feet of the dragstrip made as much noise as the cars going down it . Dave and Cathy Danish have been nothing but nice to me I'll miss them. I was wondering what was going on there - no lights for racing at night - where are all the permanent grand stands for this "State of the art NHRA track" capable of National events . I hope they can figure out a way to make this place accessible to the fuel guys again .

Hey guys, I've lived in FONTANA for the last eight years. We don't have any more meth labs than say, Orange County or Diamond bar, and I for one have all of my teeth. They may not be the straightest set of choppers you're ever gonna see, but they're all there. Beverly hills it's not, but it's not south central Los Anageles either.

Bummer!

OK...OK....Don't everyone get the 'shorts knotted up"..First off, Dave and Kathy Danish will be there until May 14th...As far as the "Noise" issue from the track, much of it has been 'resolved', however, there will be a moratorium on Blown Nitro and Blown Alky cars for at least a couple of months...From there, the hopes are that it can be re-instated..It's NOT a totally dead issue. As far as PSCA cars, that has to be addressed through them and the track. There are more people involved with seeing that this track stays functional then most folks are aware of...Keep da faith. Now, as far as this weekends weather issue's are concerned, that's another item...
