Nostalgia means, of ago...so how far ago do we go into it ? Since trans brks.? point ign.s? Push starts ? I personaly would like to keep it competitive as it can get, but any controls if it be Elec. (t/brks & pointless ign's only). Pneumatics, (for shifting only), cables, ( fuel, chutes etc.) all must be driver activated & or controled. The only non driver device would be a "chip" of no less than 9000 rpm be put in elec. ign's to control rpm incase of an accident or part failure to help preserve parts and reducing costs so as to return to racin ASAP ! This puts the racin back into the seat of the driver and his skills, not the Electronics and his deep pocketbook !! But that's just my opinion...Human racin not robotic. And policing, well thats up to the promoter, if he just wants gate? or a strong , happy, following of racers who know their gonna get a fair shot at the money on an even playing field at every event and at any track.

Ken: Yes, it appears that you've become the "Champion" of electronics by your defense of them. Lucky you. Heck, I was just goofing with Eric when I asked him "what are electronics"? Didn't think it would generate this much ink. Like you, I wonder about people who "consistently" run within .0005 on each run. Either they're really, really good, or  If I remember correctly, Ken (Racer) Brown runs against cars equiped with electronics and has been a consistent winner over the years without them. I agree with Eric.No electronics in Nostalgia drag racing.!!!
Besides, NHRA may have just setteled this argument anyway..
