Stan I will check on him and keep you guys posted I talked to the kids and Bill was talking and alert when he left the track Beth rode in the ambulance with him. I understand he was upset with the track crew for cutting up the car to get him out. Butch

I was helping with a B Gas car in the staging lanes when the crashes occured . The drivers had a meeting with officials and walked the track to check it out . They said that water was coming out of the track at 300 and 1000 feet and decided it wasn't safe . I checked the track out after everyone packed up and left and by that time there were streams running across the track . Weird !!!

[ To all of the track personnel at Famoso, a gallant effort but the efforts could not overcome "Mutha Natures" The track guys did do an extraordinary job getting the track ready on Sunday , it was great early in the day I had my best ever 60 foot time - Top fuel was getting down the track too . When the sun came out and the track started heating up the moisture came up to the surface . Nobodys fault , Joel's right ...mother nature won this event

Got an email from Beth Burch today said Bill is coming along OK both hands in casts and still bruised but getting better each day. They still have the home phone set to answer machine so it does not wake Bill up, They hear the messages and Bill knows his friends are thinking about him. Butch

On the same note, but different tune, I talked with Dave Hough yesterday..Rick is doing pretty good...Attitude is outstanding, and yes, the "new car" is under construction.. Should be ready in May and Dave will make the announcement on who will be the 'new driver'....The entire Hough family is looking forward to their next outing..

Recieved this from Beth today;
Hello- He is improving & very restless. Tomorrow is a doctor appt and he might get the left cast removed-that will make him happier. The right thumb still has the big pin in it & is painful, not sure what the next step is but we will know tomorrow.
We plan to go to Palmdale on May 20th for the race and BBQ. Hope to see you and the other guys. We went to a carshow in Orange on Sunday and he saw many friends--it was good for him I think. He has not looked in the trailer yet. He only saw some snapshots from the internet but not the video. There is plenty of time for all of that--whenever he is ready.
thanks for checking in---see you in May!
