A couple of weeks ago while at Bakersfield for the ANRA race Art Foster of the "Instigator" race cars came to us and asked if we would be interested in coming up to Santa Maria for their car show. This is the 4th annual event put on as a community activity that benefits their local hospital and the American Cancer Society. Art explained to me that part of the proceeds go to young cancer survivors by way of a scholarship fund. Without question, we said yes we would. I also promised that I would do what I could to help spread the word around to the racing community as best that I could. A long time ago, Santa Maria had a drag-strip. But like so many like it, it went away. Art also told me that he has been approached by both the Mayor and members of the City Council about opening up a track again. This could be an opportunity for us, the racers, to show support behind this idea. It may or may not lead to anything, but at least its worth a try. Below is the link to the website for this event. Any and all information can be found there including contact numbers for additional information. Oh and yes, there will be a burnout competition for those who wish to join in. www.cruzinforlife.netGino Ofria A/GAS 3638 VHS Racing

People love to see drag cars at shows regardless if they are a "show car" or not. Heck, fire up the engine for them. We've had people bring their drag cars out and the crowd likes them.

All information is located on the website.
I do not think that they are set up to receive payment over the internet, so you may have to drop a letter in the mailbox. Or call them directly.
I my opinion any racecar is better looking than a street rod. So bring it down.

Just a reminder that the Cruzin For Life Car show is just around the corner on Sep. 29-30 in Santa Maria. This event benefits the local community's hospital and The American Cancer Society. If you are not able to attend that is okay. But, at least find a local car show that is connected with a charity and take that opportunity to give back to your community and society in general. It is my opinion that our race cars are more show worthy than any street rod or trailer queen. Race cars show the blood, the sweat, and the labor of love it takes to have a passion like ours. Information can be found at www.cruzinforlife.org/ For additional information go to the contacts page and call Art Foster directly. He is in charge of organizing the race cars.
