Keep your fingers crossed for Moreno Valley. I spoke with the Major of Moreno Valley at LACR (he is an avid drag racer)a few months back and it sounds like the real deal.

Granted I run a much slower car than most. There is still Famoso, Fontana, and Irwindale if you call eighth mile a real drag strip. Personally, I prefer quarter mile. To each his own. The only problem I had with the Drag City project is, they kept giving everyone false hope by posting things such as: "Coming summer of 2007" etc. What's the old saying? Don't tell me, show me. I give anyone credit for trying to build a new track. But I'm sorry, after hearing this stuff for what has it been now, six years? Build it and we will come. Just my two cents.

I'm sure most of you have already heard about this next meeting. I haven't followed it from the beginning but it would not hurt to have another drag strip around. Is anyone planning on going there to show some support? Hell if all else we could follow it up with a burger and fries. Joe UPDATED (12/12/2007) PLANNING COMMISSION TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING ON JANUARY 10th 2008 While the City of Banning considers the Drag City project dead. The Planning Commission has set this matter to be discussed at a revocation hearing in order to afford the Drag City project any due process rights which is entitled under the Code or the laws of the State of California or the United States. The hearing will take place at a special meeting of the Planing Commission of the City of Banning to be held at 6:30pm on January 10, 2008 at the City Council Chambers in the Banning City hall located at 99 East Ramsey Street. At the revocation hearing, the City will present evidence as to the expiration of the UUP and will request that the Planning Commission formally revoke the UUP, which revocation will have the effect of also terminating the DA. Upon completion of the City's presentation, Drag City will have the opportunity to submit evidence and arguments on it's own behalf. The Public is also allowed to speak on the issue as well and are invited to comment on the matter. This is your chance to make a difference! Let others know that if they want a weekly drag strip to keep kids off the street in Southern California then they should BE THERE! Tell Racers,Tell the Media, Tell Celebrities, Tell Everyone! Thank You!
