Actually, it found me. Thanks to the ANRA message board John Gates (of San Diego) saw my wanted add and gave me a call. Long story short I bought his 180" Rick Kennedy FED roller that is currently certified to 6.0 and complete minus the motor and trans. It was built a few years back but never assembled. He got side tracked building a funny car. John is going to keep it for a few weeks while he finishes a couple odds and ends. I am going to power it with an injected small block and run a glide. I couldn't have been more lucky to get to know someone with so much knowledge. I'll have to set aside a few extra hours each time I go down there.
Anyway it looks real good for next season. Joe

Agree with you 1000%. John Gates is one of the great guys in the sport!! We were lucky enough to be pitted by him when we first started running our dragster at a race at LACR. He heard us fire up and could tell by the sound of the motor that we were off. Didn't wait for us to ask, just came over and helped. He not only has the knowledge, but also the desire to help others in the sport. Just the way he is.
Looking forward to seeing you at the track!

I have known John for a long time we use to race togather he wont leed you wrong he has been my right hand man and when I cant remember something I give him a call , you just cant beat the help of the good old boys from the midwest.

Stretch,
Just my $.02 but the group of people here on this board are loaded with knowledge and are quite friendly. I bet if you signed in and introduced your self and started a thread with a couple questions you would get some results.
John will most likely see this post soon.
