I just got the call from the wussy track at Fontucky. "If ya don't got mufflers ya cant run here even if you aren't blown". So I'm thinkin about puttin the collectors and those muffler lookin thingys on the NE1 car and seeing what they have to say about that the next time they run a time only lane. I guess I'm gonna have to licence at Barona. it's the closest thing we have to a real drag stip in So Cal.

Ok. I feel better now. Went out to the shop to ckeck out the big block collecters and mufflers and decided to fire up the dragster, after a couple of minutes to warm up it sounded just a little fat. A couple 4000 rpm raps cleared up the loading. I can't wait to get this critter out to the strip!! Oh well... screw Fontucky!! It's their loss!! I'm off to check track schedules.

Who told you you can't run open headers at Fontana? I was there Saturday and Sunday and watched 6 second 200 MPH Top Comp dragsters - Blown with collector headers no mufflers . There were another 200 or so cars racing - no mufflers in 6 different categories all weekend . Dragsters , altereds , Roadsters , Door cars , Junior Dragsters . Somebody gave you some bad info

I got a call from the track on Thursday before the event. It took them 4 days to return my call, and they said "positively no zoomies and mufflers are required". I figured there would be Super E cars with open headers but they probably got away with it because they were part of the associations that were running the event. Too bad I sold my small block collectors but oh well.. the zoomies sound alot better.

Anyone that was out there this past weekend notice any onsite improvements? Such as sound wall, perminate grandstands, perminate K-rails, etc. Or is it still a converted parking lot?

There were no lights yet which makes it difficult to complete big events with the days so short right now . The track is good no complaints there . They are looking for a track manager hopefully it'll be a drag racer that will get some of the things done that need to be done there . I like the place and call it my home track now ....I'll never have to sweep 100 lbs. of sand out of my race car and motorhome again ;D Give it a chance , It's a real 1/4 mile dragstrip in SoCal..

Can't and won't claim Fontucky our home track. Because we never been there with our car. To be honest, not looking forward to going nor do I think the other (new) organization will pull-off their event(s) there until they start making some perminate improvements to that parking lot.
We will not change our set-up just so we can put something down the track there. As it is, we will continue to go and support Famoso until a better alternative comes along.
Didn't think I'd say this but, I miss LACR.

Ya we miss Palm Dirt as well I had many interesting passes there. Bernie, Bernie burgers, LACR staff, wind, heat, cold, dirt, etc. it still brings a smile to my face ;D Fontucky is a 30 min. pull for us so it makes it easy to load up and make some passes, hopefully they will add some permanent improvements soon - Snarlin
