Has anyone heard of the attendance count of the MMs? It would be interesting to know just how many people turned out over the 3 days, (Both participants and spectators). I've been going a LOT of years and one could tell THIS one was special.

I was there as a racer and spectator,it was UNBELIEVABLE!The crowds for Friday,Saturday and Sunday were huge!A bunch of us that went out early made our way to the stands at least an hour before the call for TF and the stands were filling up!The far side of the track had motorhomes and trailers at least four deep the length of the track! It cost me $85.00 for the race,it costs that much to go watch a big NHRA race on Sunday,The March Meet was a bargin! Everybody knows the race calendar takes priority over all else.
I kid you not, I told my son and his bride to be to make sure they consulted the race calendar before picking a wedding date. They did! A little to the chagrin of his future wife's relatives!
I think Saturday at the MM was bigger than Sunday. We couldn't get a seat in the stands for the TF qualifying sessions, and picking our way up to the lanes from "way back" in the Hot Rod pit area took a really long time with all the people, golf carts and knuckleheads trying to find a pit space to block so they could park in the pits. Crazy man!
