....Something I have thought about and wondered. Has anyone ever approached a Native American Tribe that has acres upon acres of land about building a track? They aren't subject to most of the red tape bs as others.
Imagine, slot machines in the pits and staging lanes, a hotel/casino on site. Ok the pits and lanes slots is a stretch. But you get my point.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Here in Arizona, Firebird Int. Raceway is on an Indian Reservation and has I think a 99 year lease. Here's a link to the track website: www.firebirdraceway.com/.
From what I've been told, the Indian Council is pretty happy with the track results. Across the track are 2 casinos with a third one on its way.

you know, i ask this same question at the drag city planning commission meeting and nobody seem to find it interesting enough to comment. hell, there is a casino right down the fwy from banning!!

There are other tracks that are going through the planning process now. They are keeping the PR under raps to avoid the Banning/Marocco hipe/letdown from happening again.
