I'd go with the Altered. They take up less room in the shop and trailer. They can be a handful, but that's what makes them fun to drive. I sure loved mine and miss the ride.

HEY JEAN: You have NO excuse for not having another one. Tell MaMa its part of your retirement plan...I'll bet she'll go for it.. Yea its me.. Hi Dick. Hmmm, this thingy stuff again. Guess we'll have to start calling you Mr. M. Anyway, yup the better half says to go for it, we'll see. I just keep getting the itch to jump back into Comp.Elim. again. But as you well know, that has gotton really expensive. At least if you want to be in the hunt. I've probably forgotten how to stab and steer, but I'm sure I'd have fun learning again. ;D How much longer before your Fiat will be heading out again? Are you pretty much healed up now? Wish your races were closer, I'd get hooked for sure. ;D

Well I got all the parts, And I picked up my new CJ block thursday, So off to Ofrias place Monday morning for all the machine work. I'm hoping to start putting it back together in a couple of weeks. The new bullit should give Eric a pretty good ride. Yea I'm pretty well healed up on the hip. Now in Oct or so they want to rejoint my right knee. I'm really looking forward to this one. YEA RIGHT. But I guess it has to be done. You aught to think about the Nostalgia classes rather than those NHRA multi dollar races. You would have a blast, I just know you would..D.M

The weather at Palmdale on Sat. was absolutely georgous. I know it sounds phoney. But it turned out to be a great racing day. In fact we got sun burned.

I need your guys opinions. I am thinking of buying a big block for my '55 chevy. It is between shafiroff racing engines or reher=morrison. Which one would you recommend.

Why don't you save a pile of money and let Ofria build you one. My God, A Shafiraff motor is 20 grand, Plus shipping. Save a pile and do it right here.

Ditto that!^^^ Seeing your a local from Santa Clarita, I would think it would be a lot better to have Larry do it for you. When the time comes for repairs or refreshing it, a local guy like Larry would be a lot better. Talk to him and I'm sure you can work something out. Larry Built engines for me many years ago. I was very happy with the results. We set the NHRA record in A/EA in 1977 at OCIR with one of them. ;D

FED. What a ride. You can see everything but the parachute. Like a roller coaster, the best ride is all the way in the back. Try one you'll be hooked. Dragster Jeff

I know Larry does good work and I like to give someone that races with us the busines but those Shafiroff complete motors are amazing . My friend has one of their 434 small blocks and put about 600 passes on it running 10.0's in a 3000+ lb. car . They have a 540ci bigblock , intake to oil pan 810 Horse Power for $9250 . Try to buy all the parts and machine work and Dyno tested for less than that ! If you need one in a hurry you can have one at your door in about a week . How many engine builders can do that?

Mr. DM Trust me, I enjoy racing with you poor folk, I fit in real good. Did lots of bracket racing back in the days of Irwindale and OCIR. Met some of the best Folks around and had a blast too. ;D I've already been snooping around at Altereds, but I just don't get the time for the travel. With business demands and all. Once I sell and retire, there will be time for racing and enjoying new friends at the drags. Until then, I'm just looking around. Eric, you have a point on the motors, but I've always been more of a hands on guy and helped Larry in the building of mine. I don't know how much work gfinmark wants to do on it. That would be something to consider.

I build all my own motors as that's what fits my ( lack of ) budget . I just see so many guys buying these complete motors , call them on Monday - motor on your doorstep by Friday - and they are really well put together pieces . No mystery either....you know exactly what you are gettitng when you order it and they build the same thing over and over and over . They are very reliable , thought out engines . Re finance the house put it on a credit card ....easy ( until that bill comes in the mail ) Not a bad way to go if you can afford it and you need it now .

Hi Eric. LOL! Yup, I know what you mean about a budget or lack of. I've been there myself and found that I learned more and enjoyed doing a lot of it myself. In thinking about our conversation some more, it occures that this will be for a bracket car and the need for a lot of testing and hunting for max power wouldn't be necessary. At least when compared to trying to run Comp. Elim. So a strong reliable package, without any fuss would be right. Not sure what Larry offers now, but it wouldn't hurt to give him a call. Anyway, best of luck to him on his choices and hope he lets us know what he does. I'm thinking you are the Eric, that drives Moseley's Fiat and wish you the best of luck this season, once he gets that heap running again. ;D
