Yup that's me....I'm looking forward to getting back in Midnight Madness with a few more ponies and see if I can still keep it straight . Short wheel base is my choice by the way - that steering wheel gets lonely in those long front end cars

Don't know if you know who I am, but I have had a few short cars (Bantams) myself back in the old days. ;D Hope to come see you guys run one of these days. I'm sure you'll do fine, enjoy the ride.

Cant you make a ALT in to a funny or am i misinformed. The short answer is, yes you can with the right wheel base chassis. In the match racing circles, they ran cars as Fuel Altereds and Funny Cars by just switching bodies.

I see Gino on here once and awhile, last time I saw him, he was riding in our tow car with my son, back in 1977. Man, how the time goes by. You better get that car together, sounds like Erics got the itch....... ;D

Gino doesn't ride in the tow car anymore, He just throws it on his back and carries it to the finish line.. Larry got all excited when I told him who i've been talking to on this contrapsion, That is when he wanted to know if you could make Pomona..He said he hasn't heard from you since 77, Now its time for a visit. Larry has all the parts,So now its up to him as how fast it will be back..Ol' Eric still has the farm truck to race so he's OK.. Its me who has his nails chewed off to the wrist. Looks like I'm going to have to be a two car owner. One as a spare. Chau.

JR you can add Josh to that list by the time we go get that Altered and get it running he will be old enough to drive it, on the other hand the Woody maybe done by then so I will have to get in one of the cars myself. Team Spence will not be the only 2 car team out there ;D ;D ;DI have had a couple of offers for drivers all ready.

Yes, I'm here.
Mr. Jean in regards to Pomona, I don't think that it would be any problem for you to stay at the Ol' Mans cave (house) if you so choose to come down for the race. There is plenty of room and I know that he would love to have you come visit all of us.
We are looking for an excuse to get up your way with the racecar and check out the Fallon track. Butch knows how we feel.
On the subject of getting an engine built I just want to say that anytime that you invest in something that expensive, know who you are dealing with and you should feel comfortable about ask any and all questions. I know that for some people it is easier to explain what they want and then to write a check. One must also consider the ease of follow up after the completion for the engine too.
Valley Head Service has been in business for 41 years next month. Over the years they have worked with most major auto manufactures in their engine development projects as well as many of the top name racers of all different styles of racing. Recently, they have been mostly building drag racing engines and classic auto restorations that require special tooling and jigs to make replacement parts. Whooops, sorry I didn't mean to make this into an advertisement.

Hi Gino. I'm afraid that I can't make it down for Pomona this time, to much Business stuff going on. Thanks for the generous offer though, would be great to see everyone again. If you guys do get together and come up to Top Gun, I'm sure I'll be out there to see you guys run. Good luck this season, say hi to the Ol' man for me. ;D When you see Moseley, give him a kick in the butt for me. He needs it.

Butch, you know you got an in with my cousin Donnie who is one of the track announcers up there. He keeps telling me that Top Gun would love to have a nostalgia race up there, but they can't get any organization to commit to them. It is my understanding that after that other large organization canceled their race at Sears Point, Top Gun contacted them about changing the venue to Fallon. To which they said no thank you.
There are many nostalgia guys up in that area and not to mention that Sac. is about 3 hrs away. I think that it would be very successful. Just have to pick a weekend that is far enough off that people can plan on going and would not conflict with other grassroots organizations.
As a matter of fact, why not start a poll to see who would be interested in going up there. And hey, if we can't get Mr. Jean to come to us than why not take it to him.
Gino
