Ken we are working on 2008 schedule. Did not want to do anything until Gibbs posted his schedule. Not a lot of holes in his schedule but I will work something out. Not giving up on ANRA racers. Just do not want put to much of a load on you guys and spread it out. Don't want back to back races. How much time between races do you guys like? Look for something soon some of the tracks want to wait until the Div 7 track owners meeting, this year it is in Jan.

During certain parts of the year, a month between races can't happen. After June the schedule opens up a little, but who knows what will happen.....

Ken, when you say you "read the rules" what rule book is that?
I am wanting to know if the "Hot Rod" class requires fenders or not. Seems rediculous for a fenderless car not to be called a hot rod but a 1962 Rambler qualifies.
Anyway just checking to see if there actully is a place where the "rules" are in print.

To the contrary, I think this will only help in creating more opportunities. NHRA will only be having a five race series, nothing after June 1 until mid Sep. Thats four races in the first half of the year and on in the second half.
My advice is to forget the other guys (ie psca, wchra, etc.) and schedule your own deal. They cover less than half of anra classes and are struggling to cover their fields too. Let the racers decide who they want to run with.
Some times you got to get out of the way to make thing work. Gino

Jr, why so negitive about the heritage series? ? Personal opinion and I posted this at Headerflames already.... I guess it's a lot like people not wanting to run an ANRA event because they won't pay you $1200 to win a index race...personal preference. BTW...what are the RV parking fees, pay outs and entry fees and at this Hertiage Series? Just wondering....

It seems like the GG's as my uncle would quote "treated the sportsman racers like stepchildren" and especially the Hot Rod guys. I'm really not too hip on this Heritage Series, but would at least like to give one race a try (Vegas) but other than that I have no desire or money to attempt the rest of their schedule. Me personally I could care less about a payout for a win, (maybe that's just the rookie racer in me just wanting seat time for now) but I know on the different levels of racing it costs money to run. I really want to commend Butch for what he stands for and sticking with it. Before the Finals all the talk was going around about the Fuel Car match race and he stuck to his guns saying that if he put any extra money out it would be for the racers who have run with ANRA for the past several years....thats integrity! It was very encouraging pulling into the gates at Famoso in August and November and seeing the amount cars ready to do battle. I hope to see ANRA continue to grow and have it's niche in the Nostalgia Drag Racing Community. By saying that I hope to contribute all I can off the track as well.

Steve....I too will try an event (besides the March Meet) and if it doesn't fit my taste, I have a home at ANRA and hell, maybe even a SCEDA race or two. I have NEVER looked up a payout schedule for an event I WANTED to run at....I make the decision on my car...it's my money and I do what makes sense for me and my team. A couple bucks at the end of the day is nice, but I do it for the fun of it. Hell, this season we put out $300 of our own money to other racers to give back to the "community"...it was cool!!! I've known Butch for a few years now and I believe in what he is doing and wish more racers did so also... the finals (besides the rain part) was the best.
To quote a fellow NE2 racer..."I can't believe how many racers showed up to win a trophy"....I replied with "they do it because they love it".....period.

what i think most people don't understand about the "little guy" racer is, we do it because we can. as anybody has seen my rig knows, i sure don't care that much about the money. it is nice to make a few bucks and with the cost of everything involved in putting on a race series knows, the anra is not making alot of money to do this. it will take alot more racers coming before our group makes money. i think it is like everything else in life nowadays, everybody has their hand out for a payday when a meet is put on. it doesn't mean the anra is making a ton of money just because there are more cars now. as far as butch goes, i have been involved as a racer for quite a few years and i can say, he is by far and away the best man in charge i have ever been priviliged to be associated with. i know he has taken money out of his own pocket to put on these event. how many others can say that? i am not a suck up but i just like the anra and will do my best to support it. if it wasn't for him and the people that race with us, i wouldn't have a place to race my flatty. so yes i like the anra. i will try to make every date i can. even if i go out first round, like every race this year except the finals. i think that might be because most everybody else left though.HAHAHAHAHA
