I have to agree. FED is FED. Just like the old eskimo in the potato chip commercial. " If I give one to you I must give one to everyone". If you let one in where do you draw the line for the next RED that wants to come and play? Nostalgia is MIYF.(MOTOR IN YOUR FACE).

Ya, with all the Summit and SCEDA events locally I am sure you will have venues to run at...I know some ANRA guys and gals that run with SCEDA also, including myself when time permits....
Ozzie, my dad was one of the original members of SCEDA with guys like Hap Blackstock, Hans Scheibe and Nick Misserville. Back when they ran OCIR with their A, B, C Econo Dragsters....

JR, I Know, I remember Racing With You Guys. WE Also Were The Founding Fathers<and Mothers> JANE COMBS Who STARTED THE SO. CA. SUPER COMP ASSOC. And SHOW CASED IT @ THE WORLD FINALS TO GET NHRA TO ACCEPT IT. THEN THE ELECTRONICS MARKET GOT INVOLVED AND SCREWED EVERYTHING UP. WE MOVED TO COMP AND RAN ( A/DRADSTER} TILL LINGENFELTER DECIDED TO KEEP BOMBING THE INDEX! SAME THING THAT CARTER IS DOING IN JR/F. THATS WHY I LOVE ANRA! and THE HERITAGE SERIES SEEMED TO RUN VERY SMOOTHLY ALSO. SAY HI TO POP! HE WILL REMEMBER. OZZIE.

I was one of the first guys to help Butch set up this ANRA deal...The original thing was to give EVERYONE a place to race.. As far as the Rear engine thing goes,, We had rear engine cars back in the first part of the 50s So you talk about Nostalgia,, What is nostalgia?? Cars that LOOK like they were built in the 50s-70s. And that is what Dicks REAR engine/HAMB car is. Looks just like it was built in the 50s.. What would you guys say if a person brought out the Bustle Bomb and asked if he could run it..Would you say NO?? because it's not a FED... It was both..Are you afraid that the early rear car will kick your butt..The early chassis weren't that great as far as a working chassis goes,,And he only has a Stock 454 in it..NO WING though.. I say, BRING THAT PUPPY ON OUT..And bring the family. Have fun with the guys..Just put it in the proper ET class...ANRA so the whole family can have fun.............Dlck Moseley

Just one more thing...I have a year 2000 nostalgia car,,I know a guy who has a Year 2005 nostalgia car.. AND a guy with a 2008 nostalgia car. And another guy who runs a car that was built in 1967.. Now you tell me which one is a true nostalgia car....Now I'll go back in my cave.....

Rear, mid ...... semantics. Gentlemen, we're talking about the same thing here. By quarter mile definitions Barn Job's a rear engine car, were it anywhere else it'd be called a middie. Road racing, LSR, street, etc: Engine in front of the driver> "front engine". Engine between driver and rear axle> "mid engine". Engine behind rear axle> "rear engine". Drag racing: Engine in front of the driver> "front engine". Engine between driver and rear axle> "rear engine". And as Mr. Mosely pointed out, it's been done in various forms since the beginning of our sport. ..... by the way, just what do we call the "Midnight Oil" car? ;D ANRA: "American Nostalgia Racing Association (nostalgia drag racing at it's finest)." > ANRA Web Site. Nostalgia: "Longing for something past." > WordNet® 3.0. Princeton University. My own opinion is that it's about recreating and enjoying periods of American drag racing history. Please note the plural of "period", it's intentional. Guess my opinion isn't in the majority ....... yet. I'll try and work on that. ;D
